Well here we are. Just a year after celebrating 25 years of publication we’re celebrating our 50th issue!
Who would have thunk it? 50 Charms… only 950 to go it reach a Thousand Mark Feld Charms. By my calculation that 1000th Charm will be published sometime in the year 2522! The mind boggles as to what the world will look like then. As long as ATMFC is a constant until then we’ll be fine. It’s coincidental too that we should reach 50 Charms in a year that celebrates not only the 75th year since Marc’s birth but the 50th Anniversary of Marc’s most commercially successful year -1972 - Charm 49 saw this mag cover the first 6 months of 1972 and inside these pages you can read all about the last half dozen months. I didn't want to split it into two issues but there was that much to fit in I had no real choice unless I short change the readers which I would never do. Talking of which I was thinking how can I make this issue special but came to the conclusion that I try to make every issue special.
A lot of readers have come and gone - some sadly passed away - some just not interested anymore, but for all the readers we have lost, new fans have discovered the delights of Marc and T.Rex and have subsequently subscribed to the mag. A lot of original 70s fans too have re-discovered Marc and want to know more, and this mag is just a small part of their renewed interest.
A fanzine like ATMFC will always be there to pick up and look back on and each issue is like a time capsule of the events going on throughout the past quarter century. Websites and social media are constantly changing and it’s difficult to archive things online as there’s always something new so events of the past are quickly lost and forgotten, most people just want the latest thing, not only with T.Rex related material but anything you care to mention.
